Giving Tuesday 2023

Partnering with Tualatin Together is investing in the youth of our community.

We are looking for 150 donors to contribute $50. This will help us reach our goal of $10,000 and will support Tualatin Together's desire to ensure that youth are living to their full potential.

Your donations will fund programs like these:

Tualatin High School's LEAP Youth Coalition

High school years are hard.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Which college are you going to? What kind of car do you drive? What are your grades? Who are you dating? Where did you go on vacation?

LEAP Youth Alliance mission is to change the norms around youth substance use as a source of coping and encourage healthy behaviors, choices, supports and relationships. Your support of $50 today, helps our student coalition to gather data, become educated on trauma informed practices that include diversity, equity and inclusion to shape their campaigns and support activities to implement them.

Parent Education

Tualatin Together believes in supporting the adults in kids’ lives. We provide education, networks, and collaborative opportunities for parents and professionals to connect with others who care about kids. We believe that this commitment helps to weave a stronger safety net for our youth as we work to ensure they get to live to their fullest potential.

The funds raised will support our parent education series. These include Screenager viewing and guided discussion for 6-8 grade parents/guardians and our K-5 series of "Brain Based Parenting" with Dr. Collier. Dr. Collier is a subject expert on strategies to prevent high-risk behaviors from happening.

Mental Health Seminars

Tualatin Together has had a long history focusing on mental health, positive coping skills and how that all ties in with youth substance misuse prevention. We have hosted approximately six (6) QPR Suicide Prevention Courses in person and during the pandemic one that was youth focused and one community/adult focused. We also had the opportunity to get one English only and one Bilingual/Spanish speaking person trained to lead these courses.

Your support will allow Tualatin Together to work in partnership with the Tigard Tualatin School District and WA County Department of Health & Human Services to offer FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid Training and twice annual QPR trainings, a suicide prevention community gatekeeper training, for school staff and community.

Dressed to Dream

Dressed to Dream is a FREE program sponsored in partnership with Tualatin Together, the Tigard-Tualatin School District and Rolling Hills Community Church. The three volunteer run events throughout the year serve hundreds of students in the Portland Metro Area providing attire for homecoming, winter formal and prom. Students are able to choose from thousands of formal or semi-formal dresses, slacks, jackets and dress shirts. In addition to formal wear, students have the opportunity to receive shoes and accessories to finalize the look that they are dreaming of. This fun event also strives to provide a festive atmosphere with selfie stations, refreshments and personal shoppers helping students find just what they are looking for. Donations will support costs for our upcoming Winter Formal and PROM events.
