QPR – Question, Persuade, Refer
November 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
On November 13th, from 6-8 pm at The Tualatin High School Library, QPR Trainers will provide education for people ages 14 and up on how to intervene in a mental health crisis. Space is limited to the first 40 people who register. There will be food, limited childcare, and goody bags provided with resource sheets inside. The training can be triggering so there will be a system for breaks when needed.
“QPR” stands for Question. Persuade. Refer. It is a training used to recognize the warning signs of a person considering death by suicide and providing them a path to safety. QPR training helps people by providing support and intervention skills to help prevent suicide and promote mental health awareness. You will learn about how to identify the warning signs, how to approach and inquire, and how to connect the person with support by following three simple steps – Question, Persuade & Refer.
